Minutes of April 27, 2008  -  Organizing Meeting

 

Executive Members in attendance:  Carolyn Hayek, Ann Copeland, Penny Tetter, Ellen Imsland, Judith Prince, Jim and Connie Dunkelberger

 

Leadership:

Elected Officers and Executive Committee, 2-year terms (begin July 1), elected in even years:

            1.  President                                                                                          Carolyn Hayek

            2.  Vice President (responsible for membership & other duties)                Judith Prince

3.       Secretary-Treasurer                                                                                    Susan Moen

 

Officers Appointed by the Executive Committee:

1.       Communications Chair                                                                     Ann Copeland

2.       Educational Foundation (includes LAF) Chair                                    Ellen Imsland

3.       Advocacy/Public Policy Chair                                                          Connie Dunkelberger

4.       Education/Program Chair                                                                 Phyllis Izant

 

The Board of Directors consists of 7 members – the elected and appointed officers.

Bylaws were reviewed.  Ann Copeland moved to approve the Bylaws, Ellen Imsland Seconded the motion, it passedThe Bylaws for our Online Branch were approved as written.

 

Unanimous Board Approval:  Ellen Imsland moved to have a unanimous vote on the board of officers.  It was voted and approved.  The officers are as listed above.

 

We have opened a Bank of America Account, Susan Moen and Ann Copeland are authorized to sign.  It was opened with a $25 donation from Ann Copeland.

 

Dues:  Connie Dunkelberger moved that the dues be $20 a year.  Penny Tetter seconded the motion.  It was approved unanimously.

After a discussion, Ann Copeland moved the following. Susan Moen seconded, and it was passed.

          For those whose primary membership is with another branch, dues for this branch are $20.  For those for whom this is your primary branch, the annual dues are $77, which includes $20 for the branch, $8 for the state, and $49 for our national AAUW. 

  Suggestions for the Online Content:  Facebook, pictures of members, book section, DVD section, blogs, etc.

 

The founding meeting was adjourned at 8: 00 am.
